From 2019 till now, life in Hong Kong is chaotic. Darkness covers my city. I strive to keep stillness and peaceful everyday. My way to focus on the light source, bear in mind on my belief and goal. Then I figure out my map and keep on moving forward. Who knows the future?
“Vessels” is a mixed media artwork series on digital painting and hand painted collage. Kwan express her anxiety, bitterness and despair to reveal the weakness of humanity in the “Vessel” series.
A selection of photographs in the simplest colors, of stark contrasts, dark shades and luminous textures, in which sometimes tiny dwellers can be found roaming.
It is these seemingly nameless and trivial constructions and their visual quality that I wanted to honor in this series of photographs. We hope this series gives you a different way to appreciate them.

Andreas ink-based artwork has been seen in both solo- and group shows around the world and in a variety of mediums such as magazines, posters and books (including the “World’s Largest Coloring Book”, winner of Guinness World Records 2018). An avid lover of Hong Kong, his drawings portray both famous landmarks and other, more hidden spots located around the city. When he’s not working on his art, Andreas can be seen hiking around Hong Kong in search of new inspiration.
I cropped and enlarged sections from newspaper photographs and combined with the style of paintings in Song dynasty to create a different point of view towards the unusual usual.
